Hundreds of customers in rural parts of San Luis Obispo county have had their power shutoff.
PG&E announced this planned shutoff earlier this week, and is due to dry conditions and heavy winds leading to an increased wildfire risk. Affected areas are between Atascadero and Morro Bay along Cabrillo highway, Morro road, and Atascadero road, as well as Santa Margarita. The full outage map can be viewed on PG&E’s website.
The estimated restoration time for power is 1 pm, but PG&E says they will restore power once it is safe to do so, and once inspections have been completed.
