09.28.26 Community Invited to War Memorial Ribbon Cutting at Historic War Memorial Stadium
Immediately before the Bearcats football game this Friday, October 2nd will be a ribbon cutting at War Memorial stadium for its new memorial.
The ceremony will take place from 6 to 6:30 pm prior to the game and athletics hall of fame induction ceremony. War Memorial stadium was dedicated in 1946 to honor the 12 Bearcats who lost their lives serving their country during world war II, but the original plaque did not include their names.
The new memorial will permanently recognize those 12 Bearcats, and preserve the history behind the stadium’s name.
