At the district office on Niblick road, the Paso Robles school district is preparing for the first day of school later this week.
Tom Harrington is director of student services with the Paso Robles school district. He says the school doors will open Thursday. They’re still looking for drivers. If you’d like to help the schools by serving as a van driver, you’re encouraged to contact the Paso Robles school district.
And that holds true with many school districts. There is a nationwide shortage of qualified school bus and van drivers.
Harrington says there’s also a change in food service. The state and federal governments are paying for breakfast and lunch for students, and dinner if they want to take it home. Students need to fill out a form to qualify, but everyone is included. More on food service tomorrow here on KPRL.
