Richard Loomis of Arroyo Grande died recently.
Richard lived most of his life in Arroyo Grande and San Luis Obispo. He played football for the Eagles and later at Cal Poly. He is in the sports hall of fame at each school.
Loomis established the Loomix Liquid Feed Crop, which grew into the largest liquid feed company of its kind in the country. That’s one reason, Loomis was named the Cal Poly alumni of the year in agriculture.
During his life Richard planted over one thousand redwood trees at his family’s Tar Springs Ranch.
He and his wife Bobbie were married for 70 years.
A service is planned on October 22nd.
In lieu of flowers, his family is requesting donations be made in his name to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
