A 40-year-old Fresno man shot and killed just before midnight Saturday night at the pier parking lot in Pismo Beach.
Pismo Beach police found the man with multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot. According to police, four hispanic men and some women confronted the man about his possible gang affiliation. That led to a verbal argument. They provoked a physical altercation by the small crowd. Another man joined the group and confronted the man. He fired multiple rounds at a close distance.
The shooter was seen leaving the pier parking lot with several other people in a tan or brown older model Chevrolet silverado. The victim died later at Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria.
The shooter is described as an 18-20 year old Hispanic male wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt.
It’s the first shooting fatality in Pismo Beach in 17 years.
