Yesterday afternoon, at about 1:10 pm, the Paso Robles police department responded to a call for service regarding a road rage incident, and a man who brandished a handgun at a victim near Spring and 9th street.
Officers quickly located the suspect vehicle near 13th street and River road, conducting a high-risk traffic stop on the suspect. They safely took the suspect into custody, later identified as 56-year-old Jay Alba of Paso Robles.
Police say they recovered a ghost gun from the suspect’s vehicle. There were no injuries during this incident, and no current risk to the public.
Alba was booked into the San Luis Obispo county jail on several charges, including felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and possession of a firearm without a serial number.
