County district attorney Dan Dow released several statements on social media in response to the Minneapolis shooting.
On January 7, 2026, Renee Nicole Good was shot and killed by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent as she allegedly attempted to drive away from ICE agents surrounding her car. Disputes have arisen as to whether Renee was deliberately attempting to run over the agent with her vehicle.
Dan Dow posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Let this tragedy be a loud and sobering reminder to all: do not interfere, obstruct, or delay law enforcement in the performance of their duties. If you do, you put yourself squarely in danger. And never ever use force against a law enforcement officer, it may be the very last thing you ever do.” Dan Dow also reposted a video of the incident, saying: “If the story ended the other way around and the woman had killed the ICE agent, what would the narrative of the far left be?” The posts were made on Dow’s personal X page, which says the statements made are not endorsements.
