Yesterday afternoon, Paso Fire & Emergency Services responded to a report of a structure fire at 324 Vine street.
Firefighters found light smoke from a raised foundation duplex at 522 4th street; the fire started on the outside deck, and spread into nearby vegetation. Firefighters contained the blaze to the deck and exterior of the building with no extension into the attic. A total of 12 firefighters responded to the incident.
The cause of the fire was determined to be “smoking related,” according to a release from the fire department.
