7 CERT Basic Training News Release 6Oct2026
The Atascadero Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) will be offering basic disaster training courses in the month of October.
This 24-hour course is intended for family members ages 18 and older, where they will learn how to prepare for disasters, basic first aid, how to search structures and rescue victims, and to protect your home against natural disasters. Classes will be held at the Colony Park recreation center on Traffic way, October 6th, 8th, 13th, and 15th. Then on October 17th, students will partake in a final review and disaster scenario.
Completion of all training sessions is required to receive the FEMA certificate of completion. Registration is $40 for Atascadero residents, and $42 for nonresidents.
