
Next Saturday, October 10th, is the Paso Robles Pioneer Day parade.
Pioneer Day starts with the traditional bean cooking at 7 am, and the children’s pet contest at 8 am in the city park gazebo. Immediately after the pet contest will be the little cowboy/cowgirl contest.
Then the parade starts at 10 am at 16th and Spring street. Antique tractors, horse-drawn wagons, marching bands, youth groups, floats, vintage cars, fire engines, military vehicles will all parade down Spring street.
This year’s royalty will be Marshal Steve Hansen, and Queen Cheryl Wilshusen-Savage, with Belle Abigail Johnson.
At noon is the free bean feed, Carnegie library & historical museum. The pioneer museum and park will also be open with activities. Gymkhana starts at 1 pm at the Paso Robles event center, followed by pioneer games at 3 pm.
