The Paso Robles joint unified school district announced a “significantly upgraded” credit rating from Moody’s ratings. According to the web page for Moody’s, the upgrade “reflects significant improvement in the district’s financial position, resulting largely from the implementations of financial controls which have allowed the district to build and maintain strong reserves and liquidity despite declining enrollment.”
This follows the district’s low point in 2018, according to Moody’s. According to the district, eight years later tells a dramatically different story. The most significant indicators of the district’s recovery ‘is the growth in available operating reserves,” and “years of sustained effort and consistent financial leadership.”
The district attributes chief business officer Brad Pawlowski who has helped guide the district’s financial recovery.
