The county office of emergency services and Paso Fire & Emergency Services presented an update on plans for the upcoming El Nino conditions.
Paso Robles has initiated “Paso Prepared,” a public education campaign focused on helping residents ahead of the rainy season. Through the city’s social media channels, Paso Prepared encourages residents to sign up for emergency alerts through: readyslo.org. The county also operates an emergency reverse 911 system for urgent notifications such as evacuation orders. Residents are encouraged to sign up at: alertslo.org. There is also expanded availability of free sand for sandbags at two self-serve locations: Pioneer park, and Sherwood park. Residents must purchase and fill their own sandbags.
The city will also host a free Coffee with the City event on October 30th focused on storm-water management and flood mitigation.
