The Atascadero school district announced they have launched two investigations regarding the sudden leave of the high school’s principal, Nikki Baca.
Baca was suddenly put on leave in October, prompting a slew of public comments in one of its board meetings. One of those comments was Baca’s husband, claiming superintendent Tom Bennet made “inappropriate” comments about her appearance, and that her leave was linked to this incident. On Friday of last week, Bennet sent out a statement saying there will be two independent investigations launched. One would look into the accusations made against Bennet, which he has denied, and the other the second will be on Baca’s sudden leave. Yesterday’s board meeting led to more public comments about Nikki Baca, with superintendent Bennet making a statement afterwards.
The board did not discuss the topic further, as it was not agendized.
