The San Luis Obispo county sheriff’s office released a statement on an investigation into a report of child sexual abuse that occurred more than 30 years ago.
The sheriff’s office received the report in August of 2024, and began an immediate investigation. The sheriff’s office says three male victims were identified, all juveniles from the same family during the time of the alleged abuse.
The sheriff’s office says the family of the victims befriended a catholic priest while they were living in Mexico. The priest became close to the family, and was allowed to take the three boys with him to many places in California, including the parent’s residence in Los Osos. The victims say it’s there that the priest would sexually assault them, and this would continue over the course of 8 years.
The sheriff’s office identified the suspect as 61-year-old Theodore Gabrielli of San Diego. He has worked at churches, schools, and ministries in San Jose, Los Gatos, and Los Angeles. He was arrested on June 12th in Los Osos.
