First established in 2014 by six female Cal Fire firefighters, Camp Cinder provides young women with a challenging, dynamic, and safe environment to gain strength and knowledge in the field of firefighting.
Camp Cinder announced they will be coming to San Luis Obispo June 23rd through the 26th for a four-day firefighting camp, at Cal Poly’s Cal Fire training facility.
This initiative seeks to inspire the next generation of firefighters, and foster a supportive community within the fire service.
32 campers will be undergoing the four days of activities, which include water rescue operations, structural and wildland firefighting tactics, physical agility tests, CPR instruction, and more.
