Community members of Atascadero are invited to attend the city’s Open House event Tuesday, October 21st from 3 to 5 pm in the city hall foyer.
This event will provide an opportunity for residents to meet one-on-one with staff and the consultant team to discuss the preliminary elements of the city’s general plan. The draft general plan is currently available on the city of Atascadero’s website, and provides details of overarching plans regarding housing, zoning, and land use until the year 2045.
Five “big moves” are identified in its introductory chapter: create a mix of housing types, attract new industries and higher wage jobs, improve mobility, access & safety, address public infrastructure needs, and ensure fiscal sustainability.
Attendees are encouraged to review the general plan elements prior to the open house. Following the open house, the planning commission will meet at 6 pm to discuss the draft plan, and will then go to the city council for a formal hearing October 28th.
