The California Air Resources Board votes yesterday to require all new cars and light trucks sold by 2035 to be zero-emission vehicles.
The intent is to move the state away from oil to protect the environment.
California has led the nation in auto emissions regulations since 1966.
This will be a huge change. It may also be a huge burden on the production and distribution of electric energy in California.
