Yesterday morning, a pedestrian had been struck by a passing Amtrak train near the 800 block of South Fourth street in Grover Beach.
Grover Beach police officers and medical responders were dispatched at around 6:40 am. According to a release by the Grover Beach police department, the pedestrian did not survive their injuries, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the pedestrian is not being released, pending notification of surviving family members. The death is still under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact officer Caleb Sherrer at (805) 473-4511.
