Atascadero police chief Jerel Haley announces that he will retire October 16th.
Haley has served the city of Atascadero for nearly ten years. Previously, he worked for police departments in Santa Maria and Santa Cruz.
Haley says he decided about a month ago to retire. He plans to move to Maui and begin a new career. He says he can’t wait to spend more time with his children.
