The Paso Robles school board voted to approve changes to the salary schedule for positions identified below the market median in its meeting last night.
In February 2026, the board was presented with a survey that compared 89 benchmark positions in the district against 9 peer organizations, and found that almost 54% of the district’s job classes are below the market median mid-range. Additionally, it was found that the pay for certain management titles were not far above the pay grade of teacher salaries after a certain point in their pay schedules.
In part to incentivize some staff members to seek management positions, the school board was presented with an increase to the salary schedules for positions in the district, in an attempt to bring their maximum salaries within plus or minus 5% of the market median, retroactive to July 1, 2023.
The board voted 6 – 1 to approve the motion.
