
Containment on the Plaskett fire in southern Monterey county near Fort Hunter Liggett has grown to 61% as of yesterday evening.
Evacuation warnings that were in three zones in San Luis Obispo county have also lifted. “Crews continue strengthening direct and indirect control lines and securing areas of previous fire growth,” according to Cal Fire. The terrain still continues to limit access and challenge suppression operations.
An evacuation shelter is in place at the Santa Rosa catholic church in Cambria. The fire is currently at about 29,000 acres. For the timber fire, further up north, containment is at 27%, and the fire is at about 25,000 acres.
