The county homeless services division announced that the board of supervisors approved $7.66 million across three funding sources for affordable housing and homeless response efforts in the county.
The funds come from the California department of housing and community development and the California interagency council on homelessness, and are administered locally by the county.
Around $400 thousand were allocated to the permanent local housing allocation fund for the city of Pismo Beach, and $4.6 million to the homeless housing, assistance and prevention program. These include $1.2 million to housing authority of San Luis Obispo for north county permanent supportive and shelter services, $1.2 million to the Five Cities homeless coalition, and $1.4 million for the CAPSLO Prado homeless services center.
$2.6 million were also approved from senate bill 1090 to People’s Self Help Housing.
