A cooling trend begins Saturday.
One sad note this morning. Former Paso Robles city councilman Ed Steinbeck died recently after a battle with Parkinson’s disease. Steinbeck served four years on the Paso Robles planning commission before serving on the city council. Steinbeck died earlier this month in Indianapolis, where he lived with his daughter and her family.
Congress is expected to work this week, then they take a vacation. Most will not return until after election day November 3rd. The senate will return next month, however, to consider the president’s nominee for the US supreme court, Judge Amy Coney Barrett. Barrett once clerked for Justice Antonin Scalia, which raises some interesting ironies.…
A Santa Maria woman charged with murder in connection with a dismembered body found at a golf course in Nipomo. The body parts were discovered in the lake at Black Lake Golf Resort in Nipomo. 38-year-old Kimberly Machleit charged with murder. 37-year-old Donald Anderson has been charged with being an accessory to the murder. We learn more about 38-year-old Christopher Straub, the active shooter was killed in a shoot-out with sheriff’s deputies on Theater drive last Thursday morning. Straub was sentenced to two years in prison in 2008, but paroled in 2009. He was sentenced again in 2010 to two years for possession of a firearm by an ex-felon.…
Paso Robles police and the county district attorney’s office arrest three suspects in connection with the murder of Trevon Perry of Paso Robles. Two people were arrested in Victorville.
