Mostly sunny skies for the next ten days in the north county. We’ll see smoke and haze to varying degrees, depending on fires burning out of control in the area.
The Dolan fire burning along highway one, just south of Big Sur has now burned 117 thousand acres. It’s now 40% contained, which is a big improvement over last week.
Highway one remains closed north of Gorda.
Because much of the fire activity is shifting east and southeast, the incident command post is in the process of relocating to King City.
So far, the wildfires on the west coast have claimed 33 lives. That’s from California through the Oregon and the state of Washington.
