Yesterday afternoon, shortly before 2 pm, a driver near lake Nacimiento suddenly lost control of their vehicle, driving 50 feet off Nacimiento Lake drive and crashing into nearby vegetation.
The vehicle caught fire, spreading nearby vegetation, and trapping the driver inside. Emergency crews needed to extricate the driver, but they succumbed to their injuries and died at the scene.
Firefighters extinguished the nearby vegetation.
