A man in San Miguel is suspected of shooting his wife, and fleeing the scene.
Deputies from the sheriff’s office responded to the scene at river road and f street at about 9:58 pm yesterday. A female victim was found to be shot, and reportedly not breathing, according to emergency radio traffic. At about 10:20 pm, she died at the scene. The sheriff’s office says the suspect vehicle, a gold ford f-150 was reported by sheriff’s deputies driving eastbound on River road at about 9:52 pm.
The sheriff’s office believe the suspect is attempting to flee to Tijuana by first meeting with family or friends in Avenal.
Law enforcement officers were still at the scene early this morning. No further information is available at this time.
