Paso Robles fire chief Jonathan Stornetta will retire at the end of this year, concluding his 35-year career in fire and emergency services.
He has served the Paso Robles community for 25 of those years, and was appointed as fire chief in April 2018. During his tenure as chief, the fire & emergency services department doubled in size. Stornetta credits that progress to the dedication of department staff, the support of the city council, and the community’s investment in public safety through measure J-20.
The city will conduct an open recruitment for the next fire chief, with deputy fire chief Jay Enns serving as interim fire chief until the recruitment process is completed.
