The Grover Beach police department said they responded to fewer illegal fireworks calls on the fourth of July than in previous years.
The GBPD said there were no major incidents in the city, although officers did have to issue 10 citations for illegal fireworks use.
The Grover Beach city council revised the city’s fine for violations, issuing $1,000 in fines for one to 10 fireworks violations, increasing to $3,000 for 11 to 20 violations, and $5,000 for more than 20 violations.
