An offshore wind company has agreed to cease its plans to deploy wind turbines off the coast of Morro Bay, in an agreement with the Trump administration.
The company, Invenergy, will also terminate its offshore wind projects in the New York bight and Gulf of Maine.
Invenergy can recover a “partial reimbursement” for the termination of their leases, which totaled about $765 million. That amount will be redirected to natural gas-fired power plants in Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri.
