The county board of supervisors’ next regular meeting will be tomorrow at 9.
The board will consider approving the handbook for community advisory councils in San Luis Obispo county. Advisory councils are independent bodies authorized by the board to represent their communities, and make non-binding recommendations on planning matters such land use policies, programs, permitting, and zoning for unincorporated areas within the county.
Earlier this year, supervisors Dawn Ortiz-Legg and Jimmy Paulding were appointed to form an Ad Hoc committee to study the county’s advisory councils, and develop recommendations to improve their effectiveness.
The planning and building department has updated the community advisory council handbook as a result of the Ad Hoc committee’s recommendations and findings, which the board will consider approving in tomorrow’s meeting.
