26Rose Parade12-The Cal Poly Universities Rose Float, Jungle Jumpstart, makes its way towards Colorado Blvd in Pasadena during the Rose Parade January 1, 2026.
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, after receiving the highest honor in the 2026 rose parade, is now looking forward to its 2027 entry.
Cal Poly universities are now accepting design ideas for its entry, providing the basis for the final 2027 design. There is no limit to the number of entries an individual can submit, according to the release, and the deadline for submissions is Thursday, February 5th.
In addition to serving as the basis for the design, the winner will also receive a choice of $500, or a pair of tickets to the 2027 rose parade. The theme for the 2027 parade is “Welcome,” announced January 15th. The theme “Celebrate the Simple Joy of Belonging,” according to the tournament of roses association’s president Terry Madigan. “It’s the warmth of family – whether related or chosen, the love of good friends, and welcoming embrace of community,” she says.
