The county sheriff’s office, with assistance from the special enforcement detail and other law enforcement agencies, arrested multiple individuals on September 10th and 11th on suspicion of gang involvement, and possession of narcotics and firearms.
The investigation focused on the sale of controlled substances that benefited the Nipomo 13 criminal street gang based in San Luis Obispo county. From numerous warrants, detectives seized 2.2 kilograms of cocaine, 25 firearms, over $60,000 in cash, and evidence related to drug sales and gang activity. 10 individuals were arrested, according to the sheriff’s office release, for gang enhancement and conspiracy to possess or sale cocaine of more than one kilogram.
Some of the individuals received additional charges such as felony child endangerment, sale of a substance within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of assault weapons, and more.
