The city of San Luis Obispo released a statement yesterday, officially declaring they denounce the recent ‘hate expression’ incident in the city.
Police in the city arrested a man for public intoxication on Sunday, September 13th, after they received reports of disruptive behavior and offensive clothing. 55-year-old San Luis Obispo resident Kristoffer Pfister was identified, and was involved in a verbal confrontation with people at the community pool at Creekside mobile home park. He was allegedly found walking through public spaces in what community members describe as a “Ku Klux Klan style uniform,” and drinking alcohol. He was eventually located on the 3900 block of south Higuera street, allegedly removing the clothing.
The city says they are aware of the photo circulating online showing him walking through San Luis Obispo. They say they denounce “racism, discrimination, and hate in all forms,” and have begun reaching out to community groups and organizations to offer support and reaffirm their commitment to fostering a safe community for everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, identity, or religion.
