News Release – OCT26- Rinconada Rx
Cal Fire San Luis Obispo, in cooperation with private landowners and the county air pollution control district, will be conducting the Rinconada prescribed burn near Santa Margarita today.
The prescribed burn will go through approximately 480 acres of vegetation. It will target yellow star thistle, a highly invasive plant species that poses safety, economic, and environmental concerns. The project will also reduce available wildfire fuels.
Smoke may be visible throughout Santa Margarita during the burn, along with highway 58, Pozo road, and potentially the 101.
