Another fire in the Salinas riverbed in Paso Robles last night.
Around 9:30, Paso Robles fire dispatched to a vegetation fire within the Salinas riverbed in the area of 101 and 46 east. Within four minutes, fire engines arrived at the scene to find a quarter acre fire burning in thick brush and trees. They were able to contain the fire within 15 minutes. It took a full hour to extinguish it.
Due to thick smoke, on lane of northbound highway 101 was closed by the CHP for about one hour.
Three fire engines and one battalion chief from Paso Robles responded. The city also got three fire engines, one hand crew, one water tender, a dozer and a battalion chief from Cal Fire San Luis Obispo county. The cause of the fire was determined to be human related.
