The polling place in Shandon at the CW Clarke Clubhouse site was temporarily closed on election day.
According to the county clerk recorder’s office, this was due to staffing shortage.
A minimum of three people operating the polling location was required, but the scheduled staff “did not show up,” according to the clerk-recorder’s office.
Shandon voters were directed to the Creston polling place at 5110 Swayze street.
