An Atascadero man is facing manslaughter charges after he hit and killed a pedestrian walking to work in 2025.
On December 1st, 66-year-old Gary Tipton of Atascadero attempted to turn left onto the southbound US 101 ramp at San Anselmo road, when he struck a woman attempting to cross the street. 69-year-old Rachel Hoffman died at the scene.
Tipton pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter and for failing to yield the right of way.
His partial hearing is scheduled for June 8th.
