09.14.26 Hwy 1 Fully Reopened Between Cambria and Carmel
Caltrans announced that as of 6 this morning, highway 1 on the Big Sur coast has fully reopened.
Travelers are now able to go directly between Cambria and Carmel. Sections of highway 1 were previously closed in support of the Plaskett fire emergency operations, and the timber before that.
Travelers are advised to be on alert for emergency response vehicles, as activities and crews continue with fire operations in both locations.
