The Atascadero city council held a remote meeting last night. The council members and staff participating by teleconferencing. It was a short meeting, but city manager Rachele Rickard says there’s a big event coming up Friday. A big community development meeting coming up Friday for the city council and planning commission.
Rachele Rickard also talked about the success of the recent Atascadero Tamale Festival. It will return next year on January 14th. The seventh annual Tamale Festival. Next year, mayor Heather Moreno may challenge former mayor Tom O’Malley to a tamale eating contest.
Coming up in early February, Atascadero’s annual father/daughter dance. It’s a two night event. The first on Friday February fourth for young daughters and their fathers and grandfathers. Daughters aged 12 and under. Saturday night February 5th, daughters over age 12, all the way into their 70’s and eighties.
