Protect Atascadero gave gift baskets to Atascadero Police Officers to thank them for their service. The volunteers from Protect America took 38 gift baskets to the Atascadero Police Department at 11:00 Saturday morning. The baskets included gift certificates, coupons, baked goods and many other items donated by Protect Atascadero, community members and Atascadero businesses.
Valoree Fredendall of Protect Atascadero said the meeting got emotional. “The officers were very touched by the generosity and effort by people in Atascadero. There were a lot of smiles, and a few tears.,” said Valoree. We wanted to let the officers know we appreciate them, and some became emotional when they saw the outpouring of support.”
Valoree said that the gift baskets filled up, but the donations, particularly from local businesses, kept pouring in, so they put some of the donated items in boxes.
Protect Atascadero is a volunteer organization formed in 2020 to show support for police in Atascadero and the North County.
