After more than a week of deliberation, a jury finds Paul Flores guilty of first degree murder in the death of Cal Poly student Kristin Smart back in 1996.
Paul’s father Ruben did not agree with the verdict. He said it was based on emotions, not facts.
Ruben Flores was found not guilty of being an accessory to the crime. Ruben found not guilty of helping his son hide Kristin Smart’s body. Her body was never found.
