In Oregon, the Grande Ronde tribe has acquired several acres of abandoned buildings along the Willamette River Falls in Oregon City. Indian people caught salmon at the falls on the Willamette river in Oregon for thousands of years. The Grand Ronde tribe operates a casino called Spirit Mountain on their reservations west of Oregon City. That’s paying for the acquisition of abandoned old concrete buildings which once housed a paper mill along the river by Willamette Falls.
