Former mayoral candidate, Michael Rivera, filed a complaint against city manager Ty Lewis to the city of Paso Robles.
The complaint says that Rivera attended the November 6th homeless committee meeting by request of committee member Ron Cuff, who could not attend. Rivera says that he has several email messages from Angelica Fortin and Ty Lewis to Ron Cuff, indicating he was not welcome at the meeting. Rivera continues, saying that when he arrived, Ms. Fortin said he was not supposed to be there. After she left the room, Rivera sat down, and says ten minutes later city manager Ty Lewis came in with Angelica Fortin. According to Rivera, Ty Lewis said something to the effect of: “You didn’t get the message,” and “What are you doing here?” Rivera says that after some more verbal exchanges, defending his right to attend a public meeting on behalf of Ron Cuff, Mr. Ty Lewis grabbed him by the shoulder, let go, and slapped him aggressively on the shoulder before saying “I don’t appreciate you spreading rumors about me not living in the city.” Rivera’s complaint continues to say that Ty Lewis’s actions were attempts to intimidate or threaten him, and that Mr. Lewis should be held accountable for the “physical assault” on Rivera.
The city of Paso Robles says they are actively reviewing the allegations made by Mr. Rivera, and they cannot make further comment or discuss the matter until the investigation is concluded.
