The city of Atascadero and Charles Paddock Zoo have proudly announced that the zoo has been granted accreditation for another 5 years by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums.
Dr. Cynthia Stringfield, zoo director of the Charles Paddock Zoo, said that only 10% of zoos across the world meet the standards of accreditation. Accreditation is granted after detailed applications and meticulous, multi-day-on-site inspections.
To celebrate this achievement, the zoo will be holding a “free after 3 pm” open house celebration Sunday, April 6th from 3 – 5 pm.
Zoo admission will be complimentary from 3 to 4 pm, with a celebration at the zoo garden event center until 5 pm.
