A developer who proposed a three story bowling alley and entertainment center in downtown San Luis is arrested and charged with securities fraud and grand theft.
Jeremy Pemberton proposed developing an entertainment complex in downtown San Luis. The building was once home to Riley’s department store. An investor is alleging he was cheated out of one half million dollars. Pemberton is also charged with embezzling two hundred thousand dollars from an elderly couple.
A superior court judge also ordered Pemberton to pay $88 thousand dollars in credit card debt. He has filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy. Pemberton was arrested yesterday after being charged by local prosecutors with securities fraud and grand theft totaling $700,000.
