
After three straight wins in their Division 3 playoff campaign, Morro Bay High School’s baseball team failed in their bid for a CIF title at Valley Strong Ballpark in Visalia Thursday, as the Pirates fell to Fowler 10-1 in the title game.
Cal Poly Baseball’s postseason run came to an end Sunday. The Big West Champions, advanced to the Eugene Regional Tournament and won two games, including upsetting the #1 seed, Oregon on Saturday and a dramatic extra-inning walk-off in a must-win early game against Utah Valley as both teams looked to earn a rematch with No. 2 Arizona later that night.
Zach Daudet played the hero for the Mustangs, launching a walk-off solo shot in the 11th inning to lift Cal Poly to a 7-6 victory and into a late game championship match-up against the Wildcats . That’s when the Mustangs simply ran out of gas, losing to the Arizona Wildcats 14-0.
