A Memory Walk Dedication Friday in Atascadero, celebrating the unique history of the city.
Jim Wilkins has built memory gates on walkways in downtown and at the Colony heritage center.
The city of Atascadero started as a utopian planned community in the early 1900’s. The visionary behind it was EG Lewis. Lewis died back in 1950 at the age of 81.
The remarkable memory of Atascadero’s beginnings as a utopian planned community is being recreated at the Colony heritage center.
On Friday afternoon, the Atascadero Historical Society will dedicate the new Memory Walk and the Memory Gates constructed by Wilkins and other volunteers.
