A fire broke out yesterday morning at a mobile home near highway 41 and Homestead road in rural Atascadero.
Fire responders got word of the fire shortly after eleven yesterday morning. The found the mobile home engulfed in flames. The occupants were able to get out safely, but were left without a home. The mobile home was completely destroyed, according to Cal Fire. The cause is under investigation.
Fire fighting trucks blocked part of highway 41 near Homestead road late yesterday morning.
Highway one remains closed at the south end of Big Sur because of the Colorado fire. That fire is 50% contained. It’s burning near Bixby Creek bridge. Highway one is closed between Garrapata Creek to Point Sur.
