The Paso Robles school board will be meeting tomorrow following their closed session at 5 pm.
District staff has created a draft application for a district advisory committee for the board to approve this meeting. A district advisory committee was discussed on the August 22nd meeting instead of a 7-11 committee to focus specifically on the school closure process. Staff recommends the committee to be around 20 to 25 members, and its makeup should represent a cross-section of community members that is perceived as objective and independent from school board or political agendas. Staff is recommending the school board make the application available to the public starting Wednesday, September 13th until the 21st. An information presentation on the 36th street project will also be at the meeting.
A letter from the California Geological Survey says that further investigation and trenching as close as possible to the proposed buildings of the 36th street campus project is required by the district to move forward. The agenda packet says that staff currently cannot agree on a location that will be acceptable to CGS.
