The vice-chair of the Templeton Area Advisory Group was removed from the board, and the current chair is facing criminal charges.
Vice chair Murray Powell had been acting as chairman of the board since the resignation of former chair Jennifer Jones, where she cited disagreements and an inability for the board to conduct meetings “in a civilized and professional manner.”
In the January meeting, the TAAG board voted to remove Murray Powell. In addition, new chairman David Leader is facing 24 criminal charges, related to violating restraining orders, vandalism, and petty theft. Neighbors filed for restraining orders against Leader after a disagreement over a road designation and access, where they reported him trespassing, shouting obscenities, and making threats. Leader has allegedly violated these court orders, and is due in court March 2nd.
